Floral Frolicking

Happy Friday Everyone!

June 16th is here and Summer is just around the corner! That means it is time to break out the floral prints, grab your camera, your best friend (or a tripod), and do a photo shoot in the middle of the road!

Before we get into today’s thread, I want to wish my friend Julie a happy 27th birthday! This post is dedicated to you and your love of everything floral! (Ok, I know you are not the biggest fan of floral but I am determined to change that!) But in all seriousness, you’re an amazing human, my yam to my ham and my zang to my tang. Thank you so much for being truly the best friend a guy could ask for! Thank you for always being there for me (and for also accepting my love of floral). Enjoy this trip around the sun! I love you xx.

A Brief History of Floral Print

Floral prints have been in fashion for many, many, MANY years! The origin of the floral pattern can be traced to Asia where flowers are an integral part of the culture. In the 1400s and 1500s floral patterns had found their way into Europe and many traders sold these pieces for a very expensive price. Floral patterns were then considered to be a status symbol throughout Europe. Today, most of us wear floral prints because they are beautiful and eye catching. Floral prints are definitely seen as timeless prints throughout the world, and can be found on everything from clothing to phone cases!

The Look

Denim and Flower is a men’s fashion line who aim to impress with their eye catching designs! You can find their clothes primarily on their website, but the pieces I have been lucky enough to find so far have come from Winners and Marshalls.

Denim and Flower are getting ready to launch their monthly subscription boxes later this month, and you can choose between short sleeved or long sleeved shirts – or you can have them divide it into seasons! I have already put my name down to receive a subscription box, so I’m excited to show you guys what I get each month from them!

The shirt I am wearing in this photo shoot is one of my favorites, mainly because it is so easy to dress up or to dress down. That is one of the major aspects I look for when picking out pieces of clothing. It is obviously essential to have pieces specifically for formal occasions, but it is also good to have pieces in your closet that are able to be paired with jeans when you are not in the mood to put on dress pants. The floral pattern that is featured on this shirt is designed really different from other floral prints that I have seen, and it instantly caught my attention!

For this look, I paired the shirt with Zara’s textured weave trousers and burgundy leather tassel loafers. Just like the shirt, both of these pieces are easily paired with almost anything in your closet.

Keeping in mind that the temperatures here in St. John’s have not been what you would call tropical this season, a jacket is almost always an essential piece to have in the evenings. This trenchcoat was purchased from Zara while I was in Paris and it remains my go-to for any outfit! (Mostly because it is from Paris, I mean come on). But jokes aside, it is super comfortable and also easily paired with formal or casual clothes.

So, I highly suggest you check out both Denim and Flower and Zara! I promise you won’t regret it!

The textured weave trousers that are featured in this outfit are in the Shop My Outfits section of Threaded Towns, so check that out and browse more of what Zara has to offer!

Also, head over to the Denim and Flower website and learn more about how you can sign up for a monthly subscription box!

Have a great Friday!
