In The Beginning

Welcome to Threaded Towns!

Welcome to Threaded Towns by RJ Osmond.

Hi there, my name is RJ! I am so excited to finally share with you what I have been working on for a long time. It has been quite the journey reaching this destination, but I finally made it! So let me just unpack my bags, grab a coffee and settle in.

Phew! Okay, now that I am caffeinated and rested let me introduce you to Threaded Towns.

Threaded Towns is an online publishing community dedicated to exploring how we are all connected to each other in this world through culture. The term culture refers to the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, defined by everything from language, cuisine, social habits, music, arts, and of course fashion. These characteristics unique to different groups are what threads everyone in the world together. With everything that is going on in the world today, I think that it is very easy to forget that we are more connected to each other than we think we are. Culture threading together the largest cities and the smallest towns and everyone who lives in them is what Threaded Towns is all about!

You can expect posts about many things- travel, fashion, literature, food and other forms of art that inspire me and connect cultures together in the world. I’m excited to share this journey with you!

In case you wanted to know a little more about the mastermind behind all of this, let me give you a very condensed form of my journey thus far.

I was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, a small city in a small province on Canada’s east coast. It may be small, but it does not lack on culture, that’s for sure! I love city life but I love nature just as much (maybe a little more). I have passions for gardening, exploring, sunsets, sunrises, writing, reading, escaping, learning, fashion and so much more (as you will soon see).

I graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Arts, focusing on Sociology and English. Once graduated, I was left without a specific path that I wanted to travel down. This was terrifying because it felt like the majority of my peers had everything figured out. I always knew I wanted to create and inspire other people with my work just as others inspired me with theirs. I won’t lie to you, it has been a year-long struggle since graduating to find that path but I believe that Threaded Towns will allow me to share inspiration with people, the way that I have always wanted to do.

I have so much planned for this next journey I am about to embark on with all of you! I cannot wait to share everything that I have up my sleeves.

Be sure to follow Threaded Towns on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram,  so that you can keep up to date with everything that is happening in the Threaded Towns world! You can also sign up for email notifications so you never miss a stop on our journey together!

Before I let you guys go, I want to thank my amazing friends who have helped me through this process! This has been a wild ride and I’m sure it won’t calm down anytime soon. None of this would have been possible without all of your love and support, and I thank you in advance for the future love and support you share with me. Your friendship and support mean the world to me, so thank you! Thank you for the pep talks, the emergency Starbucks deliveries, and for just being there for me!  Thank you for believing in what Threaded Towns can be and thank you for believing in me!

And of course, a big thank you goes out to you! Yes, YOU! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to come see what I have created. It really means the world to me.

I hope all of you are as excited as I am and be sure to stop by again tomorrow to check out what’s next on our journey!

These are the threads that connect us…
